Michael C. Austin

Partner

 

Mr. Austin joined our firm in 2004 and has been practicing law since 1999. Before joining Galloway, Lucchese, Everson & Picchi, Mr. Austin gained extensive litigation experience as an associate attorney practicing medical malpractice defense in New York.

 

His practice is primarily professional malpractice defense of physicians, hospitals and health care facilities, pharmacists, dentists, nurses, chiropractors, podiatrists, optometrists, and other licensed professionals. Mr. Austin also defends physicians and other licensed health care professionals before administrative licensing boards in the context of investigations and disciplinary hearings before the California Medical Board.

 

His experience includes all areas of medical malpractice including complex EMTALA and Elder Abuse actions. In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Austin also advises professionals and businesses on risk mitigation and strategic planning for performance improvement, litigation prevention and malpractice avoidance. He has co-tried medical malpractice cases to successful defense verdicts.

 

Mr. Austin has been named in Northern California Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” for Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury Defense.  He is admitted to practice before all Courts in California and New York as well the United States District Court.
